(A) INTRODUCTION
1. General
1.1 These Fund Terms and Conditions apply to the Fund in the United Kingdom (which, for the purposes of the Fund, is considered to be England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland) and will govern your participation in the Fund in relation to fundraising activities.
1.2 The promoter of the Fund is Aviva. Aviva has engaged Crowdfunder to provide services in relation to the Fund, including powering the Fund Webpage. By participating in the Fund, whether as an Aviva Broker, Brokerage Organisation or Backer, you confirm that you accept:
a) these Fund Terms and Conditions; and
b) Crowdfunder’s Terms of Use,
and that you agree to comply with them.
If you are an Aviva Broker and/or Brokerage Organisation participating in the Fund, you agree that your Brokerage Organisation will also be bound by these Fund Terms and Conditions and Crowdfunder’s Terms of Use. If you do not want to be bound (or your Brokerage Organisation does not want to be bound, if applicable) by the Fund Terms and Conditions and Crowdfunder’s Terms of Use, please do not participate in the Fund.
1.3 In the event of inconsistency between these Fund Terms and Conditions and Crowdfunder’s Terms of Use, these Fund Terms and Conditions shall prevail.
1.4 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Fund Terms and Conditions and/or Crowdfunder’s Terms of Use, Aviva and Crowdfunder may, at their sole discretion, exclude any Aviva Broker, Brokerage Organisation or Backer, from participating in the Fund.
1.5 Aviva reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel or change the Fund and/or make changes to these Fund Terms and Conditions in its sole discretion.
1.6 Aviva may amend these Fund Terms and Conditions from time to time.
1.7 If any paragraph in these Fund Terms and Conditions is found by any court or administrative body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the other paragraphs of these terms and conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect.
1.8 These Fund Terms and Conditions are subject to the laws of England and Wales and Aviva Brokers, Brokerage Organisations, and Backers, submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
1.9 The provisions of these Fund Terms and Conditions apply as follows:
a) Section A (Introduction) applies to all Fundraising Projects, Aviva Brokers, Brokerage Organisations and Backers.
b) Section B (Broker Fundraising Projects) applies to Fundraising Projects that are submitted to the Fund, and Aviva Brokers, Brokerage Organisations and Backers associated with such Fundraising Projects;
c) These Fund Terms and Conditions apply to Submissions received from1 June 2026. If you have any questions about these Fund Terms and Conditions, please contact [email protected].
2. Definitions
“Associated Body”means, in relation to Aviva, each of its subsidiary companies and holding companies for the time being and any other subsidiary companies of such holding company for the time being, within the meaning of the Companies Act 2006 (as amended from time to time).
“Aviva”means Aviva Insurance Limited, a company registered in Scotland (registered number of 2116) with its registered office at Aviva, Pitheavlis, Perth, PH2 0NH.
“Aviva Brand Assets” means the trade marks, service marks, logos, images, video and other content owned or licensed by the Aviva group of companies.
“Aviva Brokers”means individual insurance brokers or employees, officers or directors of insurance brokerages operating in the United Kingdom (which, for the purposes of the competition, includes England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man) that trade General Insurance business with Aviva.
“Backer”means an individual who pledges funds to a Fundraising Project and does not include Aviva or its Associated Bodies.
“Brokerage Organisation”means a brokerage organisation on behalf of which Aviva Brokers are submitting Fundraising Projects to the Fund.
“Broker Fundraising Page”means the fundraising page set up by Crowdfunder which relates to the Fundraising Project.
“Crowdfunder”means Crowdfunder Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 07831511, registered office: 5-7 The Crescent, Newquay, TR7 1DT.
“Crowdfunder’s Terms of Use”means the terms of use published at https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/terms-conditions
“Eligibility Criteria”means the criteria set out in section 6 (Eligibility Criteria).
“Forever Funding”describes Fundraising Projects that have reached the end of the Fundraising Period and which choose to continue to fundraise on the Crowdfunder webpage indefinitely.
“Fund”means the Aviva Broker Double the Difference 2026 Fund of £200,000, a fund set up with the purpose of providing funding to UK charities that are local to and nominated by Aviva Brokers.
“Fundraising Period”means the period set out in section 9.8.
“Fundraising Project”means a fundraising project set up by an Aviva Broker to raise funds for a Registered Charity of their choice (see section B (Broker Fundraising Projects)).
“Fund Terms and Conditions” means these Fund terms and conditions.
“Fund Webpage”means https://communitiesfund.avivafoundation.org.uk/double-the-difference
“Intellectual Property Rights”meanspatents, rights to inventions, copyright and related rights, moral rights, trade marks, business names and domain names, goodwill and the right to sue for passing off, rights in designs, database rights, rights to use, and protect the confidentiality of, confidential information (including know-how) and all other intellectual property rights, in each case whether registered or unregistered and including all applications and rights to apply for and be granted, renewals or extensions of, and rights to claim priority from, such rights and all similar or equivalent rights or forms of protection which subsist or will subsist now or in the future in any part of the world.
“Pledge”means a donation by a Backer or Aviva to a Fundraising Project.
“Registered Charity”means a charity regulated by the Charity Commission for England and Wales, Charity Commission for Northern Ireland or Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
“Submission”means the application form an Aviva Broker completes in relation to a Fundraising Project.
“You”,“your”means Aviva Brokers, Brokerage Organisations and Backers, as appropriate.
“We”,“our”,“us”means Aviva.
3. Liability
3.1 While nothing in these Fund Terms and Conditions will apply to limit or exclude the liability of Aviva, any Associated Body or Crowdfunder, or any of our employees, officers, agents or subcontractors, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be legally excluded or limited, Aviva, any Associated Body and Crowdfunder, and our employees, officers, agents and subcontractors, will not be legally responsible to any Aviva Broker, Brokerage Organisation or Backer for anydirect, indirect or consequential loss or damagethat was not foreseeable to us or to you at the time of entry into or participation in the Fund, or which is caused by a third party.
3.2 Aviva, any Associated Body and Crowdfunder hereby expressly exclude all conditions, warranties and other terms which might otherwise be implied by statute, common law or the law of equity.
3.3 To the extent permitted by law, Aviva, any Associated Body and Crowdfunder and their agents and employees do not accept any responsibility:
a) for verifying the identity of any Aviva Broker or Backer;
b) for the content of a Submission or content of the Broker Fundraising Page provided by the Aviva Broker, or the content of any sub-fundraising pages created by the Aviva Broker which are linked to the Broker Fundraising Page;
c) for the success of a Fundraising Project including whether a Fundraising Project receives funding as a result of participating in the Fund;
d) for Pledges to Fundraising Projects;
e) for the management or use of Pledges raised in connection with the Fund by Registered Charities;
f) If you have any concerns about the activities of any of the Fundraising Projects, Brokerage Organisations that fundraise through the Fund or Registered Charities receiving funding from the Fund, you should raise these with the Fundraising Project, Brokerage Organisation or Registered Charity in question or, if you have particular concerns, with the relevant regulatory body who has responsibility for that organisation.
4. Data protection
4.1 Participation in the Fund, whether as an Aviva Broker, or Backer, may involve the processing of your personal data and may involve the processing of personal data of any person referred to in your Submission or on your Broker Fundraising Page or any sub-fundraising pages that you create which are linked to your Broker Fundraising Page. It is recommended that you do not include any personal data of any individuals in your Submission without their awareness.
4.2 We do not actively collect any special categories of personal data about you or other individuals (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences. We therefore remind you not to share any content of this nature in your Submission or on your Broker Fundraising Page or any sub-fundraising page that you create linked to your Broker Fundraising Page. Where we may, due to the nature of a Fundraising Project actively or incidentally process such personal data, we will seek your explicit consent (if necessary).
4.3 Aviva has engaged Crowdfunder to assist with running and administering the Fund, including powering the Fund Webpage. Aviva and Crowdfunder are each data Controllers. For more information about how Aviva and Crowdfunder process your personal data and your individual rights, please see:

5 Intellectual Property Rights
5.1 In making a Submission to the Fund, you agree to grant to Aviva a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence to the Intellectual Property Rights in your Submission, Broker Fundraising Page and any sub-fundraising page that you set up and any other material you provide to us to use in any way we see fit. You also agree to waive any moral rights which you may have in your Submission, Broker Fundraising Page and any sub-fundraising page that you set up and any other material you provide to us.
5.2 You warrant that your Submission, Broker Fundraising Page and information that you add to your Broker Fundraising Page, and any sub-fundraising page that you set up, and any other material you provide to us:
a) is owned and controlled by you and that you have the right, power and authority to grant us a licence to the Intellectual Property Rights;
b) is not subject to any conflicting agreements which might restrict how we use your Submissions, Broker Fundraising Page or any other material you provide to us;
c) will not infringe the Intellectual Property Rights of any third party; and
d) in respect of images or videos that identify individuals, that you have their permission to use such material and that the individual (or each individual, as applicable) has waived their rights in relation to such material. If an image or video is of a person under 18 years of age, parental or guardian consent must be obtained to use that material. You must produce evidence of the required permissions at Aviva’s or Crowdfunder’s request or your Submission or Fundraising Project may be rejected or removed from the Fund.
5.3 You must not use any of the Aviva Brand Assets without Aviva’s prior written permission. For the avoidance of doubt, this restriction applies even if your application is successful.
(B) BROKER FUNDRAISING PROJECTS
5.4 As part of the Submission, an Aviva Broker can nominate a Registered Charity that meets the eligibility criteria in clause 6.
5.5 If Aviva Brokers nominate a cause of their choice, Crowdfunder will perform checks to confirm if that organisation is eligible for the Fund (e.g. complies with Eligibility Criteria in section 6). It must also pass Crowdfunder’s standard charity profile onboarding checks.
5.6 One entry is permitted per Brokerage Organisation. Where a Brokerage Organisation operates from multiple office locations, one entry per location is allowed, up to a maximum of five (5) entries per Brokerage Organisation. Additional Fundraising Project entries over the maximum of five (5) entries for Brokerage Organisations operating from multiple office locations will only be accepted at the sole discretion of Aviva.
5.7 Aviva Brokers can:
a) edittheir Broker Fundraising Page and set up a sub-fundraising page which will appear connected to the relevant Broker Fundraising Page.
b) share their Broker Fundraising Page and any sub-fundraising page with their network.
c) donate directly to the Broker Fundraising Page and any sub-fundraising page they have created (as Backers)
5.8 Brokerage Organisations can donate directly to the Broker Fundraising Page and any sub-fundraising page (as Backers).
5.9 Broker Fundraising Projects will be posted on the Fund Webpage.
6. Eligibility Criteria
6.1 Aviva Brokers and Brokerage Organisations who submit Fundraising Projects to the Fund, as well as the Fundraising Projects themselves, must meet the Eligibility Criteria. Aviva and Associated Bodies and Crowdfunder reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to exclude from the Fund Aviva Brokers and Brokerage Organisations that do not meet the Eligibility Criteria, or to reject Submissions and Fundraising Projects that do not meet the Eligibility Criteria, or are incomplete, incomprehensible, false or fraudulent. Aviva and Associated Bodies and Crowdfunder reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to remove Aviva Brokers, Brokerage Organisations, Submissions and Fundraising Projects from the Fund at any point.
6.2 Aviva Brokers must be an employee of the Brokerage Organisation and have authority from the Brokerage Organisation to submit the Fundraising Project on its behalf (you may be required to provide evidence of this authority, such as a letter from the Brokerage Organisation).
6.3 Charities eligible to benefit from Broker Fundraising Projects must:
a) be located in the UK;
b) be a Registered Charity;
c) have a UK bank account in that Registered Charities’ name (building society accounts are not acceptable).
6.4 Fundraising Projects submitted by, or on behalf of, or in connection with, a religious organisation must have an outcome that is accessible to any person, regardless of their faith, belief or lack thereof.
6.5 Fundraising Projects must not:
a) be for the benefit of any one individual;
b) include any mention of specific individuals, companies, brands or products for promotion purposes;
c) contain any material owned by a third party, including trademarks, or contain any images or videos that identify individuals unless, in each case, you have the third party’s and each individual’s express permission to do so and to permit use of such content by Aviva, its Associated Bodies or Crowdfunder;
d) violate any applicable law or regulation or promote or encourage the violation of any law or regulation;
e) contain offensive, obscene or sexually suggestive material, propaganda, potentially misleading information, or defamatory or disparaging material about other people or companies, or endorse any form of hate, hate group or terrorist activity;
f) discriminate unlawfully on the basis of gender, race, religion, creed, national origin, disability, age, sexual orientation, or any other basis prohibited by law;
g) promote or speak negatively about any particular faith, political party or any affiliated group, promote or speak negatively about any legislation or government policy, or promote or encourage the violation of any law;
h) promote any activities that may be unsafe or dangerous or considered gaming, betting or gambling or relate to raffles, prize draws, games of chance, lotteries or similar activities;
i) relate to controversial subject matter or any subject that could be contrary to the interests of the Aviva group of companies (including, but not limited to, Fundraising Projects that present an unacceptable regulatory, reputational or other risk to the Aviva group of companies);
j) be used for commercial use or promotion; or
k) contain any viruses or other malicious elements that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information
7. If a Registered Charity does not draw down all Aviva funding allocated to it through the Crowdfunder platform within 3 months of the successful completion of the Project, that funding will be deemed unspent and returned to Aviva or its Associated Bodies.
8. How to fundraise for your Fundraising Project
8.1 A Fundraising Project’s fundraising activities must not include unscheduled attendances at Aviva or Associated Body premises or targeting of Aviva or Associated Body employees or people associated with Aviva or Associated Body employees via social media or other communication channels (unless the Aviva Broker or Brokerage Organisation has a genuine, pre-existing relationship with the Aviva or Associated Body employee or any person associated with an Aviva or Associated Body employee).
Fundraising Project submission and review
8.2 To apply to the Fund, an Aviva Broker must go to the Fund Webpage between 1 June 2026 and 30 November at 17:00 hours, register and make their Submission online.
8.3 All Submissions and Fundraising Projects will be reviewed by Crowdfunder to check that the Eligibility Criteria, these Fund Terms and Conditions and Crowdfunder’s Terms of Use are met.
8.4 Where charities are already registered with Crowdfunder, and their Fundraising Project has been accepted to participate in the Fund, Aviva Brokers will be notified by Crowdfunder as set out in clause 9.7 below. Crowdfunder may continue to review your Fundraising Project even after it is accepted to participate in the Fund. Aviva, its Associated Bodies and Crowdfunder have ultimate discretion whether (i) to accept a Fundraising Project to participate in the Fund and (ii) to remove a Fundraising Project from the Fund at any time if it is identified that the Eligibility Criteria, these Fund Terms and Conditions or Crowdfunder’s Terms of Use are not met.
8.5 Where charities are not already registered with Crowdfunder, Crowdfunder will contact the charity for information required to set them up on the Crowdfunder system. Crowdfunder will attempt to contact the charity three (3) times, and if the charity has not responded with the required information, Crowdfunder will inform the Aviva Broker that the charity has not been added.
8.6 Where a Fundraising Project is not accepted to participate in the Fund due to the Aviva Broker or Brokerage Organisation not being eligible to participate in the Fund, Aviva will notify the Aviva Broker of the decision.Where the Fundraising Project is not accepted for any other reason,Crowdfunder will notify Aviva Brokers by email. Fundraising Projects that are not accepted cannot continue in the Fund, but Aviva Brokers will receive access to Crowdfunder’s support materials and may continue to separately fundraise on Crowdfunder’s main platform.
Fundraising
8.7 Crowdfunder will notify Aviva Brokers by email if their Fundraising Project has been accepted to participate in the Fund and will set up a Broker Fundraising Page on the Fund Webpage within five (5) working days of the Submission.
8.8 The Fundraising Period for all Fundraising Projects starts from the date Crowdfunder sets up the Broker Fundraising Page and runs until the Aviva matching limit of £5,000 for the Fundraising Project is met, or the Fund is fully allocated (whichever is the soonest) – see clause 8.11 below for details of Aviva match funding.
8.9 Backers can find and view Fundraising Projects by searching on the Fund Webpage or the Crowdfunder webpagehttps://communitiesfund.avivafoundation.org.uk/double-the-difference.
8.10 After the end of their Fundraising Period, Fundraising Projects will become Forever Funding on the Crowdfunder webpage. Forever Funding Projects can fundraise on the Crowdfunder webpage indefinitely but cannot receive any further Pledges from Aviva or its associated bodies. Forever Funding Projects will be subject to Crowdfunder’s Terms of Use.
Aviva funding
8.11 Aviva will provide match funding to all Fundraising Projects accepted to the Fund during their Fundraising Period:
a) All Pledges made by Backers will be matched up to £250. This means that if a Fundraising Project receives a Pledge of £50, Aviva will donate £50. If a Fundraising Project receives a Pledge of £500, Aviva will donate £250.
b) Match funding will be given on the first Pledge made to a Fundraising Project by a Backer.
c) Match funding will be allocated in the order that Pledges are made.
d) Forever Funding Projects, in accordance with clause 8.10, arenot eligibleto receive match funding.
e) The following Pledges willnot be matched:
i. Pledges made before a Fundraising Project is accepted to participate in the Fund or after a Fundraising Project’s Fundraising Period ends.
ii. Second (2nd) and any subsequent (3rd, 4th, etc) Pledges to the same Fundraising Project by the same Backer.
iii. Pledges made by Registered Charities to their own Fundraising Projects.
8.12 The maximum value of match funding a Fundraising Project can receive (via eligible Pledges on the Broker Fundraising Page and any sub-fundraising page) from the Fund is£5,000.
8.13 Please note that match funding is limited and will end once the Fund of £200,000 is fully allocated or at 17:00 hours on 30 November 2026, whichever is earlier. Once the Fund is fully allocated, the Fund will not accept new Submissions. Any Pledges made after the Fund is fully allocated will not be matched.
8.14 The Aviva Broker Team at its absolute discretion may also award Fundraising Projects additional “Surprise and Delight” funding after the Fundraising Period. “Surprise and Delight” funding is not guaranteed.
9. Receiving Pledges
9.1 Pledges will be transferred to Registered Charities after the end of their Fundraising Period in accordance with Crowdfunder’s Terms of Use and these Terms including clause 7 and this clause 9.
9.2 Pledges will not be transferred to Registered Charities if Aviva or Crowdfunder (in their sole discretion) reasonably consider that Pledges are not genuine, for example, because Pledges are reasonably likely to be fraudulent or an attempt to manipulate the funds raised by a Fundraising Project through match funding by Aviva. In such circumstances, (i) the Fundraising Project may be closed and all Pledges refunded to Backers, (ii) Aviva Brokers, Brokerage Organisations and Registered Charities may be prohibited from participating in the Fund in the future, and (iii) action may be taken to recover Pledges transferred to Registered Charities. Where appropriate, law enforcement or other relevant authorities may be informed.
10. Information about fund recipients and publicity
10.1 Aviva will make information about the Aviva Brokers and Brokerage Organisations that raise funding through the Fund and the Registered Charities that benefit from the Fund available in Aviva’s regular external broker communications. This information will spotlight the success of Fundraising Projects and will include information such as how much the Fundraising Project has raised for the Registered Charity and may include other details (including photographs) from your Submission.
10.2 Aviva Brokers and Brokerage Organisations that raise funding through the Fund may be asked to participate in publicity or promotion organised by the Aviva Sustainability Team.
