Lifting Lockdown - Green Steps
Bradford, England, United Kingdom
Aim
YMCA Lifting lockdown – using our outdoor learning spaces to improve emotional & physical health and wellbeing of disadvantaged communities
Lifting Lockdown - life after lockdown is going to look very different but the need for people to come together once again and our shared passion to enhance and protect our natural environment and habitats remains strong.
Green Steps will provide opportunities for volunteers to come together at our Community Orchard and Urban Nature reserve sites to help us maintain and restore these after months of lock down so we are able to safely welcome people back to learn from the landscape and enjoy nature.
We won't be able to work with big groups of volunteers for the foreseeable future and this will stretch our resources. Instead we ask for your support to increase our capacity so we can offer small group sessions and workshops, including safe travel arrangements, so people can still enjoy our activities and, by getting back outdoors in safe natural green spaces, improve their physical and emotional health and well-being.
