Our weekly foodbank is running low on donations and funds. We need to raise money in order to be able to supply top-up food in Summer 2026.
Who are we, and what is our project about?
Alice Hawkins Community Projects are working with local people to enable change within the community, providing support for those on the poverty line and from less privileged backgrounds so they can focus on their financial wellbeing, improving their lives, accessing opportunities and developing the community they belong to.
As a community interest company we run a number of initiatives and projects supported by public donations and funding, run by volunteers and our members. As well as a foodbank, we run a community garden where we grow fruit and vegetables.

Why are we crowdfunding?
Our food bank offers support for those in need living in the Fosse and Westcotes wards of Leicester city. We provide top up food parcels for over 100 households a week and are always in need of additional funds for this ongoing project.
We are running low on donations. As the cost of living increases, donations reduce and our food costs increase.
This funding will help us deliver top-up food parcels to those most in need throughout the school summer holidays, including families of children missing out on free lunches and breakfast club at school for 6 weeks.

How we’ll spend the money raised
Every penny raised will go towards keeping the foodbank open over summer 2026 and providing food/household items for local people. We have no employees to pay. Healthy fruit and vegetables will be provided weekly. Specialist food such as gluten free and halal will be provided. Nappies, toiletries and washing liquids will also be provided. Overheads such as cleaning materials and food bags, insurance and wifi will also be covered by donations.
How you can help
There are two simple ways to get involved and support our project:
1. Make a donation
Every pledge gets us closer to our goal. Early support can help build momentum and inspire others to give too. Even just a couple of pounds helps and will be match-funded. Please donate now if you can.
2. Spread the word
Share our project with friends, family and your wider network. The more people we reach, the more likely we are to succeed!
