Aim
To provide visually impaired people with support to manage their personal finances through accessible formats and sighted volunteers.
My name is Michelle and I am the CEO at BASIS, the blind and sight impaired society. Based in Essex, me and my amazing team of 4 staff and 35 volunteers have been supporting visually impaired people for 25 years. Our aims for this project are to ensure that blind and visually impaired people can live independently and manage their own finances. We will work with them to produce large print versions of correspondence and provide volunteers who can support a blind person with using the computer and travelling to appointments.
