To enable our charity to adapt to online learning. The Arts provide a vital role in exploring creativity and promoting good mental health.
As a team, Victoria and Vicky have had to adapt to online teaching using new technology, changing their teaching style and they've had to come up with innovative ways to ensure that pupils can have opportunities to learn and perform. It is so important to continue to engage with pupils, especially at a time when they are cut off from friends and family.
Participation in the arts promotes collaboration, concentration, discipline, imagination, independence of thought, interaction, problem solving, helps develop good relationships and an appreciation of different ways to look at the world. Our aim is to connect people and give them a shared sense of purpose. It is through these connections that we become more caring individuals which can have a significant impact on our community.
We're engaging with pupils in a number of different ways. Radio productions, Zoom performances, online exam tuition, online drama classes, writing our own drama scripts, online singing competitions, dance videos and we are hoping to create a YouTube channel run by youths for youths.
The money will help us to continue to engage pupils so that they can have a safe space to come together to be creative. Having a creative outlet to help us deal with our daily stresses is particularly important just now for both adults and children. Classes are fun yet informative; challenging yet rewarding and mostly importantly they are a chance to meet like-minded individuals who celebrate the chance to leave ordinary life behind for a few hours and visit the word of make-believe.
