With your help, we want to equip the next generation of young community leaders in Brent with financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills.
Do The Maths is a financial literacy programme by BANG that aims to develop the money management, entrepreneurship, and problem-solving skills of young people.
The London Institute of Banking and Finance surveyed over 2000 15 – 18-year-olds across the UK for its 2021/22 Young Person’s Money Index.
While only a small percentage of young people learn financial literacy training, more young people need to be equipped with the fundamentals of financial literacy so they can develop their aspirations and achieve their desired goals.
Young people who are growing up in a highly driven consumer culture need financial literacy training to make rational choices on how to use their money and not fall into the trappings of consumer culture and debt.

BANG has specifically developed Do The Maths to get more young people engaged in financial literacy through a tailor-made programme.
The young people who participate in Do The Maths will lead in how they would like to learn about money - ensuring they benefit from the programme and feel accomplished.
Young people who take part in the programme learn:
"Do The Maths is engaging and educational for young people." Helen Barrios, Stonebridge Hub Liason
"Taking part in the RiseUP leadership and entrepreneurship programme, I have learned how to lead more confidently.” Young Person, Newman Catholic College, 2022
“Stacks and Vital Skills have been a wonderful opportunity for our students! Many of them come from backgrounds with no access to a computer or any digital skills. These skills are so important for young people to know and have and BANG has made them engaging and clear." Anjali, Newman Catholic College, 2022
We need your support to deliver the programme to young people who live and/or attend a school in Brent.
With your financial support, we will be able to run an 8-week programme with 20 students.
This funding will improve the financial wellbeing of young people and empower and enrich their lives.
How £1812 will be used:
If we raise £5500, we can deliver to 60 students.
