We want to empower parents and all our community to support the emotional health and wellbeing of children and strengthen community bonds.
What we want to do and why?
We want to support our local community and help families support the emotional health and wellbeing of their children.
There is an unprecedented rise in the amount of mental health and wellbeing challenges facing families today. We want to support our community in addressing these challenges as early as possible.
Parents and families are ideally placed to support children and young people in helping them with their emotional health and wellbeing.
There is no readily accessible information and practical information especially geared towards parents and families. We want families to be able to access expert and evidence based information from the earliest point possible- even before they have an inkling there may be something 'wrong'.
By bringing families together we hope to strength bonds across our community that will help families feel less isolated but also share experiences and learning.
We are proud to work with Auchterarder Parents Supporting Parents in bringing a programme of Emotional Health and Wellbeing Information Sessions and Practical Workshops.
The sessions will be free to attend and will welcome all parents from all across Perth and Kinross, Tayside and beyond. Parents are encouraged to request topics or areas of interest and then experts are located and organised to come and undertake events for the community .
APSP have managed to organise sessions which cover topics of Building Resilience Skills in Children, Emotional Regulation, Understanding Anxiety and How to Support an Anxious Child, Understanding Dyslexia, Parenting in a Digital Age, Brain Development at Different Ages.

Who can come along?
Attendance is free to anyone who wants to come along from whereever they live- Perth & Kinross, Fife, The Moon! Attendance at the events that have been run already have been amazing with an average of 76 people at each session (nobody from the moon yet!).
Of everybody who has attended any of the events 98% of people said they learning something new AND they were planning to implement it in their family!

What we will do with money we raise?
We want to be able to fund more Information Sessions and Practical Workshops. The priority from based on parent feedback has been to have more information and practical information around how to support children of different ages with anxiety. All money raised will be used to organise Information Sessions and Practical Workshops and priority will be given to what parents and the community would like to attend.
These are the current session being arranged before summer. Come along and say hi!!!
