Aim

We're raising money to tackle child food poverty, helping families access healthy food so children can grow, learn, and thrive.

llumine Us is a charity dedicated to supporting children, young people, and families experiencing financial hardship and social disadvantage and mental health issues. Our mission is to reduce inequality by providing practical support that improves health, wellbeing, and quality of life for those facing difficult circumstances.

Feeding hope has been developed in response to the growing number of families who cannot consistently afford nutritious food. The rising cost of living has left many households struggling to meet basic needs, increasing stress, worsening health, and impacting children's ability to learn and thrive.

Through this project, Illumine Us will provide weekly food parcels and essential household supplies to families with 300 children throughout the winter period. Each parcel will contain healthy food, pantry staples, and everyday essentials that help families maintain a balanced diet while easing financial pressure.

By reducing food insecurity, we aim to improve children's physical health, support positive mental wellbeing, reduce financial strain on parents and carers, and help families build greater resilience during a particularly challenging time of year.

The project supports financial wellbeing by helping households reduce essential living costs, improve nutrition, and create greater stability for children and their families.

Why We're Crowdfunding

Demand for our services has increased significantly as more families struggle with rising household costs. Many parents are skipping meals so their children can eat, while others are relying on emergency food support simply to get through the week.

Our goal is to ensure that 300 children have regular access to healthy, nutritious food throughout the winter, while giving their families breathing space from the financial pressures they face.

Funding this project will allow us to:

  • Provide nutritious weekly food parcels to children and their families.
  • Reduce the financial burden of buying essential groceries.
  • Improve children's health, wellbeing, and readiness to learn.
  • Help families feel more secure during the winter months.
  • Prevent families from reaching crisis by offering practical, early support.

Every contribution will help create healthier households, reduce financial stress, and ensure children have the nourishment they need to grow, develop, and reach their potential.

Distribution, storage and transport – £6,000

Covering the costs of safely storing, packing, and delivering food parcels to families across our local communities.

Volunteer coordination and programme delivery – £5,500

Recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers, as well as coordinating weekly packing and distribution sessions.
