Aim

To support people facing hunger and hardship with food, essential items and money management during the festive season and beyond.

Hello from Newquay Foodbank!

We've been supporting people facing hunger and hardship for 15 years. During that time, we have helped many individuals and families regain their financial independence and look forward to a brighter future.

There are many reasons people turn to us for help from relationship breakdowns to redundancy or homelessness to simply having a low income.

Whatever the reason they take the brave step to walk through our door, our staff and volunteers always offer a non-judgmental and warm welcome.

Urgent Support Snapshot

Since the charity’s new data collection system started in April 2020 to the end of March 2026, we have assisted over 19, 200 adults and 11,600 children via 18,900 food parcels. That's not including all the help provided from 2011 to 2020!

Between April 2025 and March 2026, we helped to put food in the bellies of 10,630 people. More than 2,885 were children.

From October 2025 to March 2026, demand for our help grew by 25% on the previous winter.

It isn’t stopping, but we don’t plan to either until foodbanks are no longer needed.

You can help local people move from crisis to confidence.

Food is the gateway for us to do so much more to help people transition from emergency provision.

The money we raise will allow us to continue to provide urgent support and offer our longer-term wraparound care.

This includes supporting people with budgeting plans that have seen them address issues such as dealing with debt and speaking with utility companies to manage bill payments.

By providing help through our Support Coaches, and collaboration with external partners such as Citizen’s Advice, we create confidence that enables our foodbank visitors to start to feel in control of their lives again.

Working Together

Regaining a sustainable financial future doesn’t happen overnight though. That’s why our wraparound care aims to uncover the underlying issues.

By building a trusted relationship, our Support Coaches and volunteers, can work with our visitors towards alleviating root causes. They can guide them to further assistance with matters such as navigating benefits and/or finding long-term housing.

By creating connection and building resilience, we invest in the people coming to us, so, in turn, they can invest in themselves and their community.

Our Community Store

Our new move-on community store can be a part of this process too. It operates along the lines of a shop where we stock fresh, ambient, chilled and frozen products.

People who have used our food banks, or those in interim accommodation, can become members. By doing so, they can access an affordable and dignified shopping experience and continue to receive ongoing assistance to support their budgeting and wellbeing.

What your donation will support.

In the run up to the festive season, additional winter costs such as heating can force people to choose between keeping warm or eating.

We want to keep providing healthy, nutritious food and essential household products well into 2027 and continue to support people with their money management at a time when financial pressure increases.

Through our Winter Appeal with Crowdfunder and matched funded by Aviva*, we can turn hardship into hope, and hope into a more secure future. Your doubled donation will help us to do that.

Every donation will make a positive difference, and not just for Christmas!

  • £22 can cover a person’s food and personal care items for a week.
  • £50 can provide a family with food and personal care items for a week.
  • £250 can cover 17 hours of guidance from a Support Coach.

Your contribution will go a long way towards ending food and financial poverty.

It will help to build secure futures as people from Newquay and the wider area of Perranporth to St Eval and across to Clay Country move from hardship to hope.

Thank You.
