Aim

We’re raising money for Hyndburn Festive Feast 2026 to bring festive joy and provide a meal for local people and families facing hardship.

Our Story

For the past five years, Hyndburn Food Pantry has been at the heart of our community, supporting more than 400 households each week across three opening days. We are entirely volunteer-led, with no paid staff, and our team is made up of dedicated local people who generously give their time, skills and care to help others. We even have a waiting list of people eager to volunteer, which shows the strength of community spirit surrounding our project. Over the festive period we welcome additional volunteers and last year staff from Aviva volunteered and it was wonderful to show them what we do with raised funds.

We see every week how much this support matters. Families on low incomes, people on zero-hour contracts, older residents, people living with long-term health conditions, refugees, asylum seekers and anyone struggling to balance the cost of food and household bills turn to us for help. Alongside access to affordable, healthy food, we offer budgeting sessions, reduce social isolation and provide a welcoming place where people feel valued, connected and part of their community.

Our Vision

Our vision is simple: no one in our community should face hardship alone. We want local people and families to experience dignity, good health and togetherness—especially at Christmas, which can be the most difficult time of year for those already under financial pressure.

Hyndburn Festive Feast 2026

This festive season, we want to build on four successful years of providing Christmas support and respond to the increased demand we know is coming. Through Hyndburn Festive Feast 2026, we aim to provide festive hampers for approximately 250–300 households. Each hamper will be tailored to household size and contain everything needed to prepare and enjoy a full festive meal, together with useful seasonal essentials.

The money raised will be used to purchase fresh and non-perishable food, festive meal ingredients, essential extras, hamper packaging and other supplies needed to prepare and distribute the hampers. Our volunteers will carefully organise and pack them before families collect them from Hyndburn Food Pantry on 22, 23 and 24 December 2026. As we have no paid staff, donations will directly support the delivery of the festive hampers and help us reach as many households as possible.
