We’re raising money to keep our foodbank running - so no one in our community has to face hunger or hardship alone
Who are we, and what is our project about?

At Manchester South Central Foodbank, we believe no one should have to face hunger or hardship alone. Every week, we stand alongside people in Hulme, Moss Side, Whalley Range and Old Trafford who are struggling to make ends meet.
Our hubs are more than a place to collect food - they’re a lifeline. A safe, welcoming space where people can take a breath, have a chat over a cup of tea, and start finding a way forward. We provide essential items like food parcels and toiletries, but we also offer something deeper - hope and practical support.
Through our in-house advice worker and trained volunteers, people get help with benefits, debt and income maximisation. We connect them to local services, empowering them to rebuild stability and confidence.
By meeting urgent needs and tackling the root causes of poverty, we’re helping our community move from crisis to resilience - so everyone has the chance to build a brighter, more secure future.
"Fantastic service that has helped me when I needed it most. I feel safe and feel I was understood. A place I could come to at a difficult time."
Why are we crowdfunding?
Imagine choosing between heating your home or feeding your family. Every week, people in our community face that impossible choice - and that’s where we step in.
At Manchester South Central Foodbank, we’re more than a place to collect food. We’re a safe, welcoming space where people find warmth, support, and the chance to rebuild. Alongside emergency food, we offer advice, energy support and a free community café, giving people hope and practical help to move forward.
We have all felt the cost of living crisis and right now, donations are dropping whilst demand is rising by 20% a year. So, we urgently need your help to keep our foodbank hubs running. With your support, we can keep people fed, keep our advice service running, and keep our doors open for everyone who needs us.
Last year, our advice services helped local residents access over £400,000 in financial gains — money that helped families get back on their feet.
Together, we can make sure no one in our community goes hungry today, and that everyone has the chance to build a more secure tomorrow.
How we’ll spend the money raised

Your donations will help us keep our foodbank hubs open and our vital work going. Our small, dedicated team works hard each week to welcome visitors, manage volunteers, coordinate donations, and connect people with advice and energy support. Without urgent funding, we risk not being able to meet the growing need in our community.
By supporting this campaign, you’ll help us:
Behind every food parcel is hours of unseen care and coordination. Your support will help us protect this lifeline - keeping people fed, supported, and hopeful.
How you can help
There are two simple ways to get involved and support our project:
1. Make a donation
Every pledge gets us closer to our goal. Early support can help build momentum and inspire others to give too.
2. Spread the word
Share our project with friends, family and your wider network. The more people we reach, the more likely we are to succeed.
