This includes promoting and encouraging the self-confidence and independence of young people of all abilities through a range of diverse activities and project. We bring together members of the local community with young people from all walks of life including those with disabilities and different locations in Bradford We provide a setting in which physically disabled and able-bodied children and young people can mix and develop understanding and we work with partners, from both voluntary and non-voluntary organisations in providing activities for children and young people. We also provide regular, social, fun, and educational experiences for children and young people to promote and encourage opportunities where people with disabilities and people without disabilities share experiences on an ‘equal’ basis working towards an inclusive society.

We will be delivering our Annual and now in its 10th Year Multi-activity Sports Camps where we focus on engaging less able youngsters in a programme of sports and recreational activities. These youngsters have additional needs and life limiting illnesses. They do not get the opportunity to participate in normal sports activities due to a lack of opportunity; funding or being able to access such sports. PHAB members design posters; leaflets to promote the events; make use of social media to ensure that information about the celebration has reached all areas of the community. The group members are enthusiastic about taking part in the planning and organising. The beauty of PHAB is that adjustments are made to ensure that no one is excluded whilst at the same time being given an opportunity to try different activities. The project will enable us to provide a meaningful understanding and enable participants to mix within the local community to make new friends whilst learning at the same time. Volunteering opportunities will also arise from this project.1783536821_149409.jpg
