Aim
To pay for emergency support for vulnerable females at risk of violence. Every £25 will pay for 1 weekly phone call to a woman in crisis.
Our Project
We want to raise money to pay for emergency support for vulnerable girls and young women in Birmingham who are in crisis and are at risk of violence and exploitation. This funding will enable us to respond quickly and ensure that young females in crisis can access free and specialised support. The COVID-19 pandemic has placed the females we support at a heightened risk of domestic abuse and exploitation, which means our work is needed now more than ever. Our hope is that we can reach the most vulnerable females at the right time to enable them to keep safe, and empower them to cope and recover from the trauma they have experienced. Every £25 will pay for 1 weekly phone call to a woman in crisis.
Our Story
The Precious Trust is a grassroots women’s organisation that supports vulnerable girls and young women within Birmingham and the surrounding areas. The charity is chaired by former Home Secretary Rt Hon Jacqui Smith, and was founded by Dr Marcia Shakespeare MBE in memory of her daughter who was tragically killed in a shooting in Aston in 2003. Since 2012, The Precious Trust has supported over 2000 females who are aged between 12 and 25 years old who are at risk of gang violence and exploitation. Click here to learn more about our story:

Our Vision
Our vision is to secure positive futures for vulnerable females by:
- Ensuring females are safe from harm,
- Equipping females with life skills through education,
- Enabling females to cope and recover from past harmful situations and relationships,
- Empowering females to achieve their goals.
Our Main Services
The charity offers three key services:
- Precious Education Programme: A bespoke programme that addresses the unique needs of female victims through group sessions.
- Precious Recovery Programme: A specialist bereavement and loss programme.
- Precious Empowerment Programme: A one-to-one person-centred support programme.
- New: Emergency Support for those in crisis.
