We are raising funds to keep useful resources in circulation through repair, reuse and redirection, making lower-cost choices easier.
RE(YOU)S is a Coventry-based CIC creating practical, community-rooted ways for people to access useful resources while reducing waste. For us, climate action has to work in everyday life. It has to be practical, accessible and grounded in what people can actually use.
This project focuses on keeping useful resources in circulation through repair, reuse, redirection and supported community access. That includes devices and digital tools, remanufactured paint, and other practical resources that help make lower-waste choices more available in everyday life. Alongside access to redirected resources, the project also supports practical learning through repair, reuse and skills-sharing activity, helping people build confidence and make lower-waste choices in everyday life.
This matters environmentally, but also practically. Aviva’s own research shows that 57% of UK adults are interested in repairing items to save money, while 23% are repairing instead of replacing because of the cost of living. It also found that 69% would rather fix an item than buy a new one. That shows how closely practical climate action and everyday affordability are now linked.
This work is strengthened by partnerships that help make the model function in practice. Through the local council, we can support the redirection of repurposed, reconditioned and software-updated devices as gifts for people to use for their own needs. Through Community RePaint, we can help make remanufactured paint accessible for community use as a practical lower-waste alternative. Support such as local PAT testers helps ensure reused electrical items and equipment can be prepared and used safely.
Why are we crowdfunding? Because without the practical infrastructure behind this work, resources cannot be safely held, prepared, tested, redirected or recirculated. Storage is essential. Logistics are essential. Safe preparation is essential. This funding will help us strengthen the systems that allow practical climate action to happen locally and consistently.
With your support, we can keep more useful resources in circulation, reduce waste, support lower-waste behaviour in everyday life, and make sustainable choices more accessible for more people.
