We are helping children with special needs to be happy, to achieve, communicate, develop their independence, learn and make choices in life.
Garston Manor School is a Specialist School for Autism, Learning Difficulties and Speech and Language. It serves students aged 11 - 16 with Learning Difficulties, Autism and Speech Language and Communication Needs.
Pupils attend from a wide area which extends from Watford to Borehamwood and covers parts of Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City.
At Garston Manor School we believe that:
Partnerships between parents, carers, educators and children enhance children’s success. We know that children learn more and have better lives when everyone in the school community works together to share thoughts, information and works on projects to benefit children. The Garston Manor P.T.A. hosts events and arranges fundraising activities that benefit the children at our school.
Over the last year, Covid-19 has meant that we have had to adapt. Many changes and restrictions have been implemented in school, to keep us all safe. However, these are often difficult for our students to understand and follow. Every class is now being provided with equipment for each individual child to reduce what is being brought into school. Each child also needs their own set of headphones to reduce the need to share equipment and allow every child to access the computers and Chromebooks in the classroom, to support their learning.
The headphones we would like to provide should be durable and robust, but comfortable as many of our children have sensory needs and find headphones difficult to tolerate. The headphones also have replaceable ear cushions, making them a more cost-effective choice.
