Aim

To support young people struggling with anxiety, low self esteem & confidence to develop through Paddle sports and well being coaching.

Willowgate Activity Centre is part of the Tay & Earn Trust, we support a lot of young people and adults with social, behaviour or additional support needs. Our latest project is aimed at supporting those affected by a long period of isolation & lock down and struggling with anxiety, low self esteem and confidence this project will mix paddle sports with wellness coaching to allow these young people the opportunities to take part in activities and learn to understand themselves more all at the same time. Over the 16 week programme the time on the water and wellness coaching will be split to ensure the balance is right for the individuals with clear development paths available to them to achieve Paddle sports awards to support their CV and opportunities to take part in River Tay Kayak Cleans.

The layout of the project will encourage the first 16 candidates to assist, develop and support the running the ongoing project through becoming a Paddle sports activity assistant further adding to their CV, life experience and confidence. 

We strongly feel that this project is even more important post Covid 19 with a lot of young people struggling after isolation.
