We believe that every child should have the opportunity to receive empowering, positive climate education to help tackle climate change
Here at Young Climate Warriors, we don’t believe it is our children’s job to solve the climate crisis. But we do believe passionately that they - like all of us - should have the opportunity to find out how we can live more sustainably and feel empowered to choose their own path of action.
We provide unique support to teachers, educators, and parents to inspire children (7-14yrs) to engage with climate change - in a positive, age-appropriate way - and enable them to have their voices heard as they take action to help our planet.
Since 2019, Young Climate Warriors has engaged over 25,000 children in our Climate Change Assemblies, eco-activities, and carbon-emissions-busting challenges, providing free climate education from Cornwall to Aberdeenshire. It’s only with your support that we can keep engaging the next generation.
Every donation to this crowdfunder is match-funded by Aviva (up to £250*) so it's a great way to maximise the impact of your giving!

What we do
We engage with children and young people through our four programmes:
Carbon-busting challenges: weekly sustainable living challenges to be undertaken at home or in a local park. These fun, engaging and relevant challenges inspire action and an appreciation of nature, taking carbon literacy learning from school into the community. Children can receive '3 little actions award' certificates.
Climate Change Club in a Box: a ready-to-go eco-club ‘starter pack’ for schools, enabling students to 'dive deeper', build understanding and stimulate curiosity. Our 13 fully scripted downloadable sessions include simple yet detailed teachers notes and are packed with activities and critical thinking discussion pointers.
Ambassador-led Climate Change Assemblies: interactive in-person assemblies, shared in schools by our team of locally-based Ambassadors to kindle-sustainable living conversations and promote climate action in primary schools across the UK.
Duke of Edinburgh Award 3-month Climate Change Skills: as an approved activity provider for DofE Award participants, we provide a 3-month programme of weekly challenges to help young people to grow ‘green skills’ invaluable for both future living and future careers, while instilling a sense of agency as part of the solution. Throughout the 3 months the participants are supported on a weekly basis by positive, personal email interaction with our YCW team.
So, what's our plan?
In 2026, we aim to grow our reach to engage with a further 10,000+ children and young people by:
To do this, we need more Ambassadors, extra organisational capacity, and funds to cover basic costs like salaries and administration, including recruitment and DBS checks. Every donation today, no matter how small, is a step closer to achieving our goals over the next year.

Why support Young Climate Warriors?
We'll let our great feedback from teachers and kids do the talking:

*How does the Crowdfunder work?
It's only with your support that we can keep engaging with and informing kids. Every donation to this crowdfunder is match-funded by Aviva, by up to £250 (max one donation per person match-funded) - every penny you donate is doubled, so you can achieve maximum impact with your donation. If you're eligible for Gift Aid, a £50 donation will actually be worth £112.50 to Young Climate Warriors. A £250 gift-aided donation will be worth an amazing £581.25.
Thank you for your support - we can't do it without you!

Who is behind Young Climate Warriors?

Katrina Judge founded Young Climate Warriors in 2019. After working in several climate-facing roles and completing a Masters in Environmental Change, Katrina felt compelled to channel her energies into a venture to help combat climate change and its effects. Her vision that all children should have the opportunity to increase their understanding of climate change and feel inspired and empowered to choose to take positive action drives Young Climate Warriors’ mission.
Our dynamic and highly competent Board of Trustees brings a wide range of expertise to support the work we do, including corporate expertise in climate and sustainability, charity impact leadership, teaching and SEN experience, and community environmental action and engagement. As a consequence, we are able to function as a highly professional charity, despite our small size, while also understanding needs at a community level.
Since our inception five years ago, Young Climate Warriors has engaged with over 25,000 children across the UK in-person through our Climate Change Assemblies and our range of high quality and thought-provoking climate change resources. Our Climate Change Club in a Box resource has seen over 150 requests, and over 600 educators receive our weekly ‘schools pack’ from Cornwall to Aberdeenshire.
As an active member of The Climate Coalition, Let’s Go Zero Coalition, The Education Climate Coalition, and Our Shared World. Young Climate Warriors plays a collaborative role within the climate action network. Our resources are shared on the Sustainability Support for Schools platform (commissioned by the Department for Education), and by Global Dimension and Transform our World. We forge a vital role in encouraging positive climate action and help make a difference for the future of our planet.
“Little by little, a little becomes a lot.”
