To support Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s vital work restoring and protecting the Lake District’s extraordinary habitats and wildlife.

At the end of September, a team from the MAB Foundation will participate in an unforgettable two-day challenge in the Lake District, supporting a vital mission to restore one of Britain’s rare temperate rainforests. Collaborating with Aviva and Cumbria Wildlife Trust, the team will start by planting trees in a nursery, followed by a 15-mile hike through some of the UK’s most stunning scenery. They’ll summit Skiddaw, England’s fourth-highest mountain, complete three iconic Wainwrights, and navigate to a unique what3words location high in the fells. 

Once there, they will plant seeds that will create a living legacy for the MAB Foundation, benefiting nature, wildlife, and local communities for generations to come. Representing Team are members of the MAB Foundation Grant Committee: Gary Brash, Rob Brookes, Andy Frankish, Lisa Godfrey, and Andrew Miles. 

The team aims to raise over £2,500 for Cumbria Wildlife Trust. Every donation will support essential rewilding, biodiversity recovery, and long-term conservation work across Cumbria’s diminishing temperate rainforests. The challenge will be demanding, but its impact will be significant. Every pound raised will contribute to revitalizing this rare ecosystem and protecting it for future generations.
