About Citizens Advice Sheffield

We can all face problems that seem complicated or intimidating. At Citizens Advice Sheffield, we believe no one should have to face these problems without good quality, independent advice.

We deliver services that are open to everyone. We also offer specially tailored services, such as our Mental Health Advice service, which works with people who are in-patients as well as those in the community, and our Deaf Advice Service which provides advice in British Sign Language. We're also a Law Centre with specialists in housing, immigration, debt, and employment.

Across Sheffield we are seeing increased demand for our services and we’re not able to support everyone that needs us. People in our community are coming to us with more complex issues that are taking longer to resolve, stretching our capacity even further.

How your fundraising will help

With your help we can support the people that need us most. Any donations we receive will go towards our area of greatest need - helping more people in our community. The support we offer will empower local people with the knowledge and tools so that they can solve their own problems in the future.

  • £25 could cover the cost of a trained adviser on our advice line for an hour, providing advice on a wide range of issues and identifying where further follow up is needed
  • £109 could pay for an initial appointment at an outreach session and the follow up work needed to enable someone to apply for benefits and resolve debt issues
  • £500 could pay to prepare and deliver a training course for volunteers at a foodbank or a community library for example on supporting people with budgeting skills
  • £3,000 could cover our volunteer expenses for a year - our growing volunteer team provide generalist advice as well as more specialist areas such as benefits appeals
  • £55,000 could cover all the costs of providing a specialist debt or immigration worker for a whole year
